Complex Outsourcing Deals: New Strategies for Planning, Sourcing and Governing, Part II: Preparing and Planning

The SIG Resource Center is moving to The SIG Community. If you are a SIG Member, or enrolled in SIG University, and don’t have access yet, you can do so here. Already have access? Log in and visit the new SIG Resource Center.

Shorter contract terms, increasingly complex multi-sourcing deals and new technologies have all converged, creating a whirlwind of needs for sourcing professionals. They are challenged with finding new approaches and developing new skills to assist with the pre-outsourcing planning, complex outsourcing ecosystems and design of strong governance models. “Three bids and a buy” RFPs simply don’t work in this environment. A group of experienced senior leaders are developing new intellectual property for SIG members and the SIG Resource Center (SRC) that will accelerate learning and adoption of new skills for senior sourcing and procurement professionals.

Topics covered in this session included:

  • Key steps during the planning stage that will prepare your organization for transition to an outsourced delivery model
  • How to structure and go to market for complex multi-vendor relationships, which typically include cloud computing
  • The key elements of a robust governance model and operating framework
  • How to reconcile complexity with flexibility and scale
