Shorter contract terms, increasingly complex multi-sourcing deals and new technologies have all converged, creating a whirlwind of needs for sourcing professionals. They are challenged with finding new approaches and developing new skills to assist with pre-outsourcing planning, complex outsourcing ecosystems and design of strong governance models. “Three bids and a buy” RFPs simply don’t work in this environment. In this session a group of experienced senior leaders will introduce best practices and share their real-life experiences throughout the lifecycle of third party relationships as it relates to the three phases of outsourcing. Previous discussions in this series have focused on the first phase of outsourcing, strategy and planning. This session centered on the second phase, sourcing practices and contract implementation, with future sessions covering the third phase, management and governance.
Topics covered in this session included:
- The changing needs and expectations of the business and the impact on technology, processes and sourcing practices
- How emerging technologies were harnessed for digital transformation in a line of business
- How the digital revolution transformed an existing cash management system
- Best practices in adapting your sourcing strategies for complex deals and emerging technologies
