The Five R’s: Delivering Value Through Re-negotiating, Re-solutioning, Re-sourcing, Retrofitting and Renewing Existing Sourcing Arrangements

The SIG Resource Center is moving to The SIG Community. If you are a SIG Member, or enrolled in SIG University, and don’t have access yet, you can do so here. Already have access? Log in and visit the new SIG Resource Center.

During this session, the presenter described how to deliver value to your organization by re-examining your sourcing arrangements on an ongoing basis, not just at contract expiration. By adopting this approach, you can: re-negotiate pricing and scope to address market competiveness, performance issues and evolving business requirements; re-solution to incorporate new technologies, such as cloud, as-a-Service offerings and autonomics, to lower cost, improve performance or enhance capabilities; re-source all or part of the contract to alternative service providers offering stronger capabilities, new product or service offerings or lower pricing; retrofit to incorporate mobility, data analytics and other components of your digital strategy; and renew to extend the benefits of favorable agreements.

Topics covered in this session included:

  • Proven strategies and tactics to deliver efficiencies, cost savings and measurable value
  • The impact of new and changing technologies on your decision making
  • How to maximize your negotiating leverage
  • Key strategies for bringing matters to a prompt and successful conclusion
