Many businesses employ contingent workers to keep their operations running every day. For large companies like Farmers Insurance with many locations across the United States, it can be difficult to govern and track the hiring, status and visibility of those workers as they are often brought in through decentralized structures that hinder accurate and timely reporting. This is particularly complex if they are being managed under a statement of work (SOW). Dealing with vendor compliance and vendor relationship management as well as contractor administration, recruiting, screening and qualifications while trying to fulfill employment requirements can be time-consuming and inefficient, especially if business units operate independently of one another. The presenters discussed how Farmers Insurance was able to put the right systems, procedures and processes in place in their contingent workforce category.

Topics covered in this session included:

  • How an MSP can improve compliance, tracking and governance of a company’s contingent workforce
  • How to drive effective governance and sponsorship when implementing an MSP solution
  • The benefits of an MSP enabling the VMS technology to drive visibility into suppliers and workers, thereby helping to mitigate risk
