Staying Strategic: How the Procurement Profession Must Evolve

As traditional sourcing techniques become increasingly outdated, the procurement function must evolve to remain strategic, and procurement professionals must acquire new competencies. In this session, we will focus on emerging trends and compare and contrast traditional sourcing and procurement roles and skills with those required in the new era. At a high level, we will look at the impact of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and other disruptive technologies and their implications for the sourcing and procurement professions. Specific skill requirements to be addressed will include: consultative and financial expertise, communication, change management, vendor management and technical knowledge.
