Original Inquiry

A SIG member has been working on a project to review/validate Procurement savings methodology. They has been using the existing methodology since its Procurement Department inception over 10 years ago. The methodology was originally benchmarked with an outside consultant upon its acceptance at ________. Several redefinitions and tweaks have been made to the savings methodology over the years, and now we also have a list of approved exceptions. In this project, the member has been tasked with reviewing each exception to determine its validity, and then using the complete review, to present a recommendation regarding a standard consistent methodology for the future. The historical review and analysis has been completed. During this process, the member has determined that it would be beneficial to benchmark savings methodology with peers before proceeding with the final recommendation.
