What is process management and what is so revolutionary about it? This is an excellent white paper to review for any organization looking to construct or improve a new process. The authors discuss the mistakes made in traditional approaches to process design. They write, “The greatest opportunities for performance improvement often lie in the functional interfaces – those points at which the baton is being passed from one department to another.” The authors make several recommendations on creating last impacts for process management. This white paper was added to the SIG Resource Center at the recommendation of a CPO who was advising another procurement department on how to set up a Supplier Management Office (aka Center of Excellence).
