Compliance audits from software vendors are increasingly common, and enterprises that violate contractual terms for licenses can incur millions in fines. In this environment, having the right tools, processes and people in place to prepare for and respond to a software audit is imperative. In fact, an effective software asset management initiative can turn an audit into a positive experience that delivers more favorable terms and a better relationship with suppliers. In this session, we’ll examine common triggers of software audits and strategies software vendors employ to identify audit targets, and focus on how enterprises can prepare for and successfully manage an audit.

Topics in this session included:

  • Why software audits are becoming more common
  • The triggers and red flags vendors use to identify audit targets
  • The keys to an effective asset management and audit response strategy
  • The benefits of asset management – whether or not you are audited
