Every SIG Summit we showcase the best of the buy-side supplier management programs. We debate between traditional approaches and using outside-the-box-thinking like applying CRM (Customer Relationship Management) frameworks to SRM. We talk about sourcing the right talent for our programs and using the most optimal tools. Each Summit delegates submit feedback about the importance of discussing these programs and their merits. In this “unscripted” session facilitated by Microsoft, we will open the floor up for further discussion on some of the more challenging aspects of building a program. Drawing on the experiences of an expert panel, we will discuss legal issues, actual implementation from the supplier’s perspective and the importance of maintaining critical factors to successful relationships. Put your thinking cap on, bring your challenges and solutions and let’s get busy!
Topics in this session included:
- How to think through the big picture
- What can be accomplished with a supplier management program
- Where the regulatory and ethical boundaries are How to determine who your strategic suppliers are
