WEBINAR – The State of the Procurement Technology Stack, presented by Tonkean
Sponsored by:

Much of the story of the last 30-some-odd years of enterprise procurement is a story about enterprise procurement technology. The varying ways enterprise procurement teams have gone about implementing, integrating, and correcting for the limitations of procurement’s most paradigmatic technologies—from the first-generation ERP suites that centralized purchasing, invoicing, and vendor data, to cloud-first P2P suites that brought richer analytics, supplier-risk dashboards, and category-specific sourcing capabilities—have become key differentiators of enterprise procurement effectiveness.
Yet no two procurement organizations apply these best practices in exactly the same way. And now artificial intelligence and deeply integrated back-end orchestration technology promises to disrupt consensus even further. Early adopters point to sizable productivity gains and radically improved stakeholder experiences, while also surfacing new concerns related to data privacy, model hallucinations, uncontrolled actions, and the sheer complexity of integrating AI into existing landscapes. Traditional rule-based automation cannot fully capture AI’s upside or contain its risks, but neither can organizations afford to rip out the systems that still cut checks and manage compliance.
The state of the procurement technology stack is, in other words, more complex and unsettled than ever before. In turn, the function remains riven by a variety of anxious uncertainties:
- How should procurement leaders be managing for the pressures and complications that continue disrupting the function?
- What familiar technological challenges and limitations continue to most hold procurement teams back—and what accounts for their intractability?
- What new changes will the next chapter of procurement technology hold, and what innovations should leading procurement teams be investing in to prepare for them?
Earlier this year, Tonkean partnered with ProcureCon Research to conduct a single-phase, mixed-mode study of 300 enterprise procurement leaders designed to answer precisely those questions.
Now, on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 8AM PT, alongside SIG and RiseNow, we’ll be revealing and analyzing our findings live with an in-depth webinar: The State of the Procurement Technology Stack.
Join for first-of-its-kind insight into—and best-in-class industry analysis of—certain of the most pressing issues facing procurement today. Registrants will walk away with a new understanding of the procurement technology landscape. They’ll also receive an exclusive copy of our survey and accompanying analysis after the show.
If you’ve been struggling to get a grip on the velocity with which procurement technology has been changing, or if you’re interested in learning how leaders from enterprise procurement organizations all over the world are situating their procurement functions in the face of that change—this survey and show are for you.
