As the long-slumbering economy starts to stir, senior fi nance
executives and procurement departments are waking up to
the opportunity they have to improve their relationships with
suppliers. In a buyer’s market for goods and services, the
time seems to be right for companies to explore technology
and process improvements and institutionalize practices that
promise to reduce supplier costs and free up working capital.
But like every buyer’s market, this one carries an expiration
date.
