SWBC’s Contract and Supplier Management Program: A Three-Year Postmortem Review

The SIG Resource Center is moving to The SIG Community. If you are a SIG Member, or enrolled in SIG University, and don’t have access yet, you can do so here. Already have access? Log in and visit the new SIG Resource Center.

Implementations can be successful, smooth, and well-adopted. It is possible to have satisfied stakeholders excited to reflect on their journey. The SWBC Contract & Supplier Management (C&SM) Program was launched over three years ago, in February 2021, with the goal of widespread adoption of a more consistent, mature strategy. This session will provide a postmortem review of the program’s successes and challenges, including our approach to continuous innovation, increasing maturity, and ongoing support. We will also discuss additional hurdles faced, such as retaining talent, expanding project scope by adopting a wildly unpopular, unused travel program, and the rollout of four (maybe five!) new tools. Join me for an exciting overview of this road less traveled.
