With the contingent workforce growing to 60 million strong by 2020, organizations of all sizes and across all industries are looking at this segment as a vital component of their total talent strategy. Healthcare professionals are constantly challenged when managing compliance and cost/budget control of their contingent workforce. With this workgroup projected to grow by 8% in 2015 alone, Vendor Management Systems (VMS) and Managed Service Providers (MSP) have become top of mind for managing this specialized talent segment. MSPs can be the best solution to leverage the benefits of VMS technology to address these business challenges and more. In this session, attendees learned strategies and proven best practices to achieve operational optimization when managing contingent healthcare workers though a VMS. Attendees heard first-hand how a major hospital implemented and rolled out an enterprise contingent workforce management program utilizing a VMS software as sourced through an MSP technology partner. Takeaways are relevant for anyone considering implementing a VMS either directly or through a partner.

Topics covered in this session included:

  • The benefits of contingent workforce visibility, including cost management and supplier performance management
  • The processes for managing compliance, including licenses, certifications and screening requirements
  • A proven business process for increased efficiency
  • Differentiators between MSP, VMS and primary providers
  • The benefits of vendor neutrality
