They say that Sourcing is more of an art than a science. There are certainly millions of permutations of category strategies, purchasing power and market conditions that require human ingenuity to effectively address. But who are those humans today (and tomorrow) and how can they be more efficient in the mundane aspects of sourcing so they can scale the areas where their creativity can shine? Sourcing tools have been around for two decades now and still they are not fully utilized in even the most basic processes. We explore the conundrum and open the discussion not just about the tools but about the people and the organizational aspects.
