Historically, when the Tribune Publishing Company sought to outsource various transaction processing, finance and accounting functions, it followed a conventional sourcing methodology to select and contract with a vendor. The result was that Tribune found itself with contracts that were either too complex to manage or too narrow in focus, and with vendors committed to delivering against the letter of the contract, rather than against Tribune’s expectations. At the 2013 SIG Global Leadership Summit in Fort Worth, we introduced you to a new methodology Tribune Publishing took that was designed to create a partnering relationship with its service provider. This session will show the path taken by Tribune and EXL to create a business relationship capable of delivering transformative services and designed to evolve to meet the ever-changing needs of a leading media company. The presenters will share their lessons learned, challenges met and successes achieved since the last session one year ago at the 2013 SIG Global Summit.
Topics in this session included:
- Lessons learned from the transition
- How to identify the challenges and strategies to address them
- How to achieve process improvement with a global solution
