Being the first to penetrate a particular industry niche often results in substantial rewards. Building or growing an organization and even recovering from supply chain interruptions are all about first-mover advantage. Speed, urgency, agility, and innovation dominate. There is no time for ‘business as usual’. But Procurement is not keeping up with the pace.
