We have all heard about how important maintaining an active network is to our career. These are not just words! There are several benefits to maintaining a network that will not only add value to your performance in your current position but will also establish lifelong contacts in your profession. It’s important to know this is a two-way street where you will find yourself flipping back and forth from being the ‘help-er’ to the ‘help-ee.’  Adopting best practices in networking will not only aid in gaining recognition as an industry resource and leader but will be valuable to you both professionally and personally. Everyone, regardless of role will find this session valuable to their career. In this session we will also cover the benefits of available networking tools.

Topics covered in this session included:

  • About SIG…you knew that would be at the top of the list
  • The benefits of attending, leveraging and building relationships at seminars
  • The pros and cons of job boards
  • How to understand the drivers of outplacement and search firms
  • How to best leverage resources such as LinkedIn
