Managing the workforce today is complicated. Between worker designations such as: permanent, part-time, temp, contingent and freelancer along with the challenges of remote talent, organizations need to invest in tools to manage, engage and develop their teams for success regardless of employment status or location. The concept of total talent management is not new but takes on more significance given the growth of the non-employee workforce. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, approximately 80% of organizations routinely supplement their workforce with temporary workers procured through staffing firms. Organizations need to look beyond functional responsibility, HR for employees and Procurement for contingent, to develop a common vision and strategy that meets the demands of managing the blended workforce.

Topics in this session included:

  • Challenges in developing a comprehensive approach to total talent management
  • The importance of goal alignment across key functions
  • Business intelligence for total workforce visibility
  • Benefits of streamlining vendor relationships to support a total talent vision
