Every procurement function includes work nobody enjoys, limiting any real operational value; call it “adminis-trivia.” Adminis-trivia wastes resources, drives turnover, and generates ill-will within and between functions. However, one Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) project aimed to get to the heart of this challenge by automating the collection, approval, storage, and retrieval of common legal forms. Introducing self-service processes pushed responsibilities to the key process participants, resulting in better outcomes and freed time. This transformation completely changed the day-to-day tasks of one of your peers. Even better, this approach is relatively easy to replicate in any environment – including yours.
