Background: This large financial institution has adopted electronic auctions as a sourcing methodology. They are looking for insights and best practices in developing a training program for the participating bidders. In addition to the questions below, please indicate whether or not you might be interested in a virtual discussion facilitated by SIG, with this requesting Peer. Question(s) /
Request: Has your company implemented a supplier training program for Electronic Sourcing? Whether your answer is yes, or no, would like to hear from you. If yes, we would like to discuss the following:
1. To what depth do you take your training (Is it generic or customized by Electronic Sourcing event type, audience, or other?)
2. Do you conduct your training by using a generic practice Electronic Sourcing event?
3. Do you offer formal training at a supplier’s request?
4. Is training required before an Electronic Sourcing event, or, optional? a. If required, how do you track attendance? b. If required, do you allow “passes” for suppliers who have already been through training?
5. What is the frequency of your training?
6. How has adding a supplier training component to your program impacted your resources, or, headcount?
7. Do you find the supplier help information useful for your program or have you created your own?
