Marketing databases, customer analytics and behavioral patterns are easier to manage with big data —but are these data elements safe from hackers? And what is the impact of the “Internet of Things?” In this session, Payton drew on her financial background to discuss how and why the financial services industry’s heavy investment in cybersecurity has not eliminated attacks and breaches. Specifically, she talked about companies that have been breached, those about to be breached and those who don’t yet know they’ve been breached, offering solutions on how they can better secure their assets. She explained how to harness the power of big data as well as how to build your big data to achieve business goals while adding in safeguards to fight cybercriminals. She also explained how the Internet of Things may be the ultimate driver of global change.
