Procurement professionals can have tremendous impact on their organizations as catalysts. They are in the fortunate position of being able to see across the entire company, however all too often do not take full advantage of that opportunity. While technical procurement skills are definitely table stakes, do we place too much importance on them as we build our teams? Does that result in teams skilled at getting the best value for money for the products and services that your stakeholders think they want…rather than creatively using supply markets to solve difficult problems, or to take advantage of revenue opportunities? How can we be catalysts personally and create an environment for our teams to do the same?
