In today’s highly competitive, fast moving and digital environment, procurement organizations need to be flexible and agile enough to support evolving business requirements and respond to changing market conditions. Accordingly, procurement organizations must continue to focus on traditional metrics such as savings, quality and spend management. However, they also need to deliver all these goals at a rapid pace, be responsive to their stakeholders, support (and often generate) innovation and drive continuous improvement. In this session, the presenters covered the key challenges faced by procurement and how to build an organizational structure that is flexible enough to face them.

Topics covered in this session included:

  • Key characteristics of the operating model to support the transformation to an agile organization
  • Why it’s important to have flexibility across functional teams to drive the processes from strategy to execution
  • How procurement can evolve to a strategic business partner focusing on value creation
  • How to sustain the benefits through transformation
