Supplier Relationship Management: Generating Value from all Types of Suppliers

The SIG Resource Center is moving to The SIG Community. If you are a SIG Member, or enrolled in SIG University, and don’t have access yet, you can do so here. Already have access? Log in and visit the new SIG Resource Center.

Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) does not have to be a resource and time-intensive activity to generate value and mitigate risk across the supply base. In this interactive session that includes break-out small group discussions, we will define best-in-class SRM approaches and how to apply these to all types of suppliers. We will review the key concepts in the SIG University Certified Supplier Management Professional (CSMP) Program, outline the different tiers of suppliers based on business criticality and supply base complexity, and discuss what SRM concepts should be applied to each tier. The presentation will include how SRM activities occur in three phases: Sourcing, Contracting, and Governance. Targeted participants are Sourcing leaders who manage various types of supplier relationships.
