As the practice of sustainable procurement has grown over the past two decades, most of the focus has been on large multinational companies. But now, stakeholders are demanding that net zero carbon commitments extend up the value chain, and new regulations for social and environmental due diligence beyond Tier 1 are emerging.

The next frontier for making business more sustainable is by engaging the supply base – the majority of which are mid-sized firms – in sustainable procurement, to propagate those practices on up the chain.

This session brings insights from two recent studies (2021 Business Sustainability Performance report, and the Sustainable Procurement Barometer benchmark survey) that reveal how Mid-sized companies are becoming a key force in driving sustainable procurement, and a rally cry from the vanguard of this movement to take action — or be left behind!

You will learn:

  • Key findings on the state of sustainable procurement in medium and large companies across industries and regions (EV Index)
  • The gap in three key areas of sustainable procurement tools and processes that are lacking in mid-sized companies.
  • What expectations and support large companies should provide
  • Inspiration for mid-sized companies to take action
