By sharing an innovative online software platform called ‘CalUsource’ (California Universities Sourcing), the two systems – with their combined 35 locations – have streamlined procurement operations, reduced costs, generated more competitive bids, increased compliance, improved contract management processes, and leveraged immense economies of scale. They have revolutionized how both university systems purchase goods and services to deliver exponential value and channel maximum savings back into their core missions of teaching, research and public service.
