Major concerns of Global Supply Chain: Managing expenses and dealing with the high prices for goods and
services, procuring quality materials, and transportation effi ciencies
and costs are the leading issues many supply chain organizations
currently face.
Supply chains are meeting these challenges by developing tighter
supplier alliances, adopting and implementing technology solutions,
and evaluating sourcing strategies.
The number of skilled professionals is a major concern among supply
chain executives. Qualified senior managers, executives and staff in
the areas of procurement, supply chain logistics, materials handling
and IT are in demand but in short supply. These issues are discussed in detail in this document.
