Sourcing strategies and models vary widely among companies and industries. Continued learning, careful planning and strategic adjustments during execution are all critical drivers for ensuring that companies have as seamless a transition to managed services, as well as hosted services, as possible. It’s important that an IT services ecosystem continues to deliver the expected business value while not impacting service delivery. But when IT departments are continually reacting (and often overreacting) to the dynamic realities of the transition, especially from a model that depended largely on staff augmentation, the needs and the demands of enterprise users and business units (BUs) for IT services do not change. Likewise, the realities of industry providers show that many Managed Service Providers (MSPs) are simply not ready or not yet mature to deliver in this model.
Topics in this session included:
- How to prepare buyers for MSP implementation by addressing IT teams’ inherent “get out of the kitchen” syndrome
- How to identify business focused service targets and exclusions
- Ways to Effect change and address “What’s in it for me” challenges
- How to break through the ‘clean room’ barricades
