What you’ll do: 
The Supplier Diversity Program Manager will work with multiple stakeholders as a result driven lead in maturing a diverse supplier panel and program supporting customer and business requirements and driving the company toward best-in-class supplier diversity practices and performance.

Reporting to the Senior Director – Strategic Sourcing and Procurement, the Supplier Diversity Program Manager will be responsible for the following primary duties:
•    Develop internal policies, practices, and scalable processes to achieve an increased supplier diversity spend across the organization inclusive of identifying opportunities by spend category and by supplier, and embedding supplier diversity in the bidding, strategic sourcing and procurement processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
•    Research, identify and on-board diverse suppliers, including minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned, LGBTQ+-owned, and small businesses to meet both company and State and School District customer contract requirements. Ongoingly develop, nurture and mature diverse suppliers including encouraging accredited certification.
•    Understand the certification processes for diverse businesses under both nationally accredited organizations and in key cities & states with local requirements.
•    Maintain diverse supplier network memberships (e.g. NMSDC, WBENC) and engage in the activities of such councils as necessary to build our knowledge, practices, program network and program overall.
•    Support the customer facing RFP, Bids & Contracts team by providing necessary information for Supplier Diversity requirements.
•    Develop, maintain and publish best practice supplier diversity metrics including specific metrics required by customers per contractual requirements.  The audience will vary among HMH Leadership, Operations department, Corporate Social Responsibility, Bids & Contracts, Legal and contractual customers.
•    Maintain a comprehensive database of diverse suppliers for procurement purposes.
•    Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal business partners to share best practices and understand / challenge business decisions to support supplier diversity goals and objectives.
•    Member and leadership role within HMH’s Supplier Diversity Council.

What you’ll need:
•    BA/BS in Business, Economics, Accounting or Supply Chain Management preferred. Advanced degree such as an MBA is a plus.
•    Minimum 5 years purchasing and/or strategic sourcing experience with seasoned negotiating skills.
•    Required experience includes supplier diversity program development, diversity sourcing strategy, analytics, supplier development, and working with diverse supplier networks.
•    Strategic thinking and ability to influence on multiple levels of the organization.
•    Excellent interpersonal, writing, and verbal communication skills, especially in front of peers and executive audiences.
•    Strong process management skills, quantitative skills and a data driven approaches to managing spend, suppliers and solving problems.
•    Possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize, work independently, and keep a high level of focus.
•    Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
•    Experince in Learning Ed Tech or other publishing industry is a plus.

Salary Range – $90K – $110K
