Findings from A.T. Kearney’s 2011 Assessment of Excellence in Procurement: Spotlight on Procurement Performance Management by Lynne McDonnell, Vice President, A.T. Kearney
This presentation will highlight procurement performance management findings from A.T. Kearney's Assessment of Excellence in Procurement (AEP) global study. Conducted every three years, this study has become an industry standard for supply manager to gain an understanding of current and emerging best practices. Since the last AEP Study in 2008, global businesses have had to weather the worst economic recession since the Great Depression of the 1930’s. The supply management function grew within organizations as it played a critical role addressing cost issues across their value chain. How are leading organizations quantifying this role and communicating it to all entities within an organization? We will take a deep dive into best practices, strategies leveraged by procurement to gain a holistic view into their organization as well as what’s next for the function.

Today's leading Procurement organizations are looking for new ways to deliver exceptional value to the enterprise. For most, this effort begins with improved stakeholder engagement - creating relationships that are collaborative, pro-active, and strategic. This presentation will take a fresh look at the needs and wants of stakeholders, and discuss how Procurement can evolve its operating model to serve stakeholders in new and innovative ways. We'll discuss: 1) The stakeholder perspective: what do Procurement's key customers really want? How does this differ from Procurement's perspective? 2) Procurement's operating model: how can Procurement evolve operations to deliver exceptional, customer-driven value? 3) Co-creating innovative Procurement services: how can Procurement better engage with stakeholders to deliver strategic solutions?
